Landmark Center Performance transports Audience

Lions, peacocks, Chinese opera masks, feathers were in full regalia at the Landmark Center’s Urban Expedition in March. For two hours CAAM Chinese Dance Theater performed for a mesmerized audience interested in China, its culture and heritage.

At Landmark Center, CAAM Chinese Dance Theater dancers performed a program that transported the audience to many parts of China and into the lives of its people through stories and dance. Stories about the origin of the lion dance, children trying on Chinese opera masks, and the joys of paper cutting as well as young romantic intrigue and sophisticated Sichuan opera movements were all features of the program. Audience members even participated in a Kong fu demonstration to the delight of all!
